Private Pilot Certificate
The Private Pilot Certificate allows a person to travel across the country into the largest and busiest airports and has no restrictions on the number of passengers that can be carried or limitation on aircraft size. In addition, travel can be made to or from any civil airport during both day and night in fair weather conditions. A pilot holding this license can also receive additional training to earn an instrument license that will allow him or her to fly in poor weather conditions.

Eligibility:  No prior aviation experience required.  Applicant must have reached their 16th birthday prior to solo and have a minimum Class 3 medical certificate. 

Completion Requirements:

Privileges: VFR Day/Night flights (visual flight rules), carry passengers for recreational flights, make cross country flights without range limitation.


Listed prices reflect the minimum amount of flight hours necessary for the certificate.  Additional instruction may be necessary depending upon the abilities of each individual student.  This course consists of the following:

  40.0 hours in a Piper Warrior or Cherokee 140
  20.0 hours Flight Instruction
  Private pilot ground school held in January, or one on one flight instruction
  Jeppesen Sanderson Books Package
  Examiner fee for the check ride
